Immediately sounded like Michael Stipe and REM to me - both on the vocal and the guitar jangle. There's something very intimate on the vocal that works so well with the backer. Lovely chord changes and guitar work. A winner!

I knew this sounded like a band I knew well, but couldn't put my finger on it.  Then Greeny's comment jogged my memory: REM, of course!  I'm a big fan of REM, but actually haven't listened to them much for many years.  Really nice job on both the music and lyrics/vocals on this.
