The Messenger
written & performed by Hook
Its the messenger that needs decoding
He not speaking with words
Just incoherent grunts and growls
Its comically absurd
I broke the code he delivered fine
But from him I can't understand a word

It's the messenger that need translation
For his intentions seem obtuse
His actions lead to awkward
But it all could be a rouse
A cleverly calculated deception
From one with morals so loose

 I think Possibly
The messenger has been compromised
I think possibly
the messenger is not in control of his own mind

It's the messenger we need to integrate
He knows more than he lets show
He claims to be true to the cause
But how can you ever really know
His eyes to me look sinister
That's all I need

Because the Hook brings you back
I ain't tellin' you no lie
The hook brings you back
On that you can rely

The mix sounds good enough to me. Great guitar work, lovely lead melodies. Really great vocals, wow you really reach those high notes.  and I really like the lyrics. Great song.

The mix sounds fine on headphones - nice clarity and separation on everything. The lead melody lines are so fine, and as always you deliver a towering vocal. Those are some big notes to hit. There's nothing obvious or sound-a-like about this - it's so unique and totally yours. Brilliant work!

I heard this several times...a couple in the car and on my headphones while on the treadmill...first off... I love your singing...and the strings just sing so eloquently...has a big time feel, sort of like the epics of the Allmans or the Outlaws...not so much in song similarity but in the soaring string sounds...
awesome...
cool lyrics too

Powerful vocal. Love your voice. And it always  amazes me how you get so much out of 4 strings. Good song Hook. Top shelf arrangement.

Melodic, and lively with the trademark energetic Hook vocals. Perhaps there's a bit too much ambience in some of the tracks which might slightly mask / muddy things up, but overall it's a clean and clear mix. Unique and memorable song.

Some great words delivered in that classic energetic style. I really like that high pitched bell? noise in the right speaker. It adds another little element of weirdness. Sounds well produced to me in headphones. Great tune.

I love the Santana style lead work on here. Excellent song with a lot of twists and turns, but your vocal weaves everything together perfectly.
