I had the incredible pleasure of meeting up with Guitar Ron in Salisbury, NC yesterday for about 4 hours.  We met at Dan Nicholas Park.  It was a lovely day and we had a shelter we could use but no power.  That wasn't a problem however because I had planned for that.  I brought my Zoom R24 recorder which does well on 6AA batteries and my ME=25 Boss effects processor does well on batteries.  So we chatted about all sorts of things, mostly music stuff.  This one for me was like magic.  Ron is a really great musician.  He played my Ibanez acoustic that we DI'd into the zoom and I had the HB PRS electric with the Zoom processor.  Ron's ability to just make my lead playing come to life with his guitar progressions and his feel and dynamics was really great.  I wish I could play rhythm that well.  Then Ron added bass using my Epiphone bass I brought along.  He is really good at all the extra color of music in his playing.
I had the honor of adding drums at home last night and today i got to mix this.  I had a really good time adding a bit of embellishments to the recorded tracks.  Recorded on Zoom, mixed on Bandlab, mastered with LANDR.
I attached a few photos and we have 2 more tracks that Ron is going to produce starting next week when he gets back to Michigan.

Great to see and hear from you guys, sounds like a lovely afternoon! I get abit of a Pink Floyd vibe from this, love the bass playing and guitar work especially. Very impressive you recorded this in a park.

Guys, I am getting a really happy, chilled vibe listening to this and what brought just as much cool vibes as the music is those photos and the story that goes with it. Sounds like you packed a decent portable studio in the car, I was half expecting you to say you managed to squeeze the drums in the car too  ;D But a lovely cool vibe from the track and I like the last photo too especially.

Congrats on being able to link up with fellow Songcrafters! You guys captured a huge sound and all while sitting under a park shelter without any power. Your portable studio worked out incredibly well Stephen. Great playing Ron and Stephen....I'm envious of your performances and of the cool day you had!

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Looks like a good time! That was a really nice blending of your styles, too - in addition to hearing some Pink Floyd influence, it also has a touch of Neil Young, to my ear.

MET on!
