The lyrics were written by a friend i knew from another music website (broad jam). called "Alan Gillis". Unfortunately Alan passed away a couple of weeks ago. He was a great musician who was semi professional in the 60's and early 70's and contracted to EMI and recorded at abbey road studios.
His music style was mainly country, rock and some jazz. He told me he wrote the lyrics for this song in the late 70's but never did anything with it.

He asked if i wanted to do anything with it. So i thought i would make a kind of "Glam rock" style song, to go with the era. And going by the lyrics it reminded me of glam rock bands of the 70's and Ziggy Stardust etc.
Keith Allen provides the vocals and bass.

Time to get out your platform shoes and silver spandex jumpsuits   ;D  Thanks for listening. Darren and keith.

Lyrics
Verse 1
The light cuts though the steaming air
Picks out the giant standing there
His axe is gleaming in his hand
The crowd is screaming, for the band
He strikes a chord that splits the night
The figure curls up good and tight
Then springs the panther to his feet
Feel his heat... feel his heat

CHORUS

He's a rock and roller - A super hero to his fans
He's a rock and roller - Don't believe he's twice their age
He's the rock and roller - They're in his hands and he won't let go
He's the rock and roller - He's... A... Rock and Roller!

Verse 2
He worked so hard just to make his mark
The nights were long and days were dark
He's on the stage where the fever grows
His fans reach out just to touch his clothes
They think they got a second glance, but he..
Flashes a smile and takes the chance...to..
Make sweet music on his strings
His fingers dance...and his fans all sing ... Sing it!!!!

(REPEAT CHORUS)
(INST)

Rocky, Rocky, Rocky...Roller, Roller, Roller (x2)
He's the rock and roller ..............

Love it.  70s vibe throughout - a bit Bowie and a bit Kinks but still very original.  Particularly like the drums.

Definitely got that early 70s vibe, I think heavy dollops of Ziggy era Bowie and maybe even a bit of Mott? Love Keith's vocal performance on this one, really hits the nail on the head and is beautifully done. I really like your guitar work, it sounds great and the riffing is top notch. Nice drums too, they really suit the vibe. Super 70s rock, can't beat it (says someone who was a teen in the 70s......).

You definitely nailed the glam rock vibe. What a great tribute to your friend. Very Mott the hoopla sounding to me. Guitar riff. Nice work

Cool song! I'm also hearing the Bowie and Hoople influence. The vocals are highly spirited and the song has quirkiness to it.
