Here's a rough sketch. I started it with Micro BR and was going to record the guitars + bass properly, but ended up just adding stuff with Yamaha DX7 :) So this is very much a "polishing the turd" -type of production. I did this as a breather from another song that's driving me bonkers. The higher sung vocal parts are a first for me! So much so that words like "things" turned into "dings" etc. :D

BREAKING THE RULES

I'm walking a road that leads to nowhere
I'm seeing things i never can have

CH:
If i could get away from you
And all those damn things you make me do

Nobody knows if you're broken-hearted
Nobody's been here forever
Nobody knows if you're a broken soul
Nobody has the answers

I'm walking a road that leads to nowhere
I'm seeing things i never can have

CH:
If i could get away from you
And all those damn things you make me do

Nobody knows when you're out on the street
Nobody cares about you anyway when you go into the night
you're just somebody...new

drum break
guitar solo (This is the part where i broke the rules :) with timing and key!)

Edit: Uploaded a new mix with new (full) vocals.
Edit: Uploaded a different version with original chorus vocals (i thought they sounded more "spirited" even with flaws).

Ah, I like this alot! Maybe needs some added lyrics as you said but the general layout and vibe is great! As usual, your guitar work and tones are killer! 8)

Thanks for all the kind comments! Sometimes these "bumper crop" tunes turn out better than the ones that you're really trying to do :)

I uploaded a new version with a slightly different mix + new vocal track. I might have lost something from the previous "performance", but i'm bad at comping vocals. It's usually one take, or no take :) The new takes often have a different type of bad so it's hard to choose the "best" out of those.

Btw if someone wonders about the lyrics. I'm a sucker for those 80's type of AOR, Hair Metal whatever -type of songs that are often found on end credits. They're sometimes from famous bands, but most often just something thrown together in the studio with a flavour of the month sound. For this song i was thinking of very 80's -type of sound and a movie that had something to do with street life, gangs (Savage Streets, Vigilante) etc. Nighttime stuff.

I don't really hear anything that needs change, this is an incredibly solid track you came up with. Sounds like an eighties hit from a parallel universe. That hook is so good I have it in my head after only hearing it once :). Keep it up!

Hi, I enjoyed this a lot and agree with Stephen's comment.  Mega 80s vibe.  I thought the guitars sounded great and the lyrics are really good!
