Is it Led Zep or is it Greta Van Fleet? It's the same thing, so could be either or could be neither, lol ;D

Max on guitars and me on vocals, bass and slide.

Down Clarksdale Way

put on my smart suit
my shiny tie
going down to clarksdale and you know why
I'm the devil looking for another deal to make
down clarksdale way
a legal contract you can't break

mama - i like what you got
mama - you know what i want
down clarksdale way at the crossroads soul exchange
let's get it on
in the mississippi rain

you signed your name
now pay your dues
i'll be collecting on a dark night from you
I'm the devil looking for another soul to take
down clarksdale way
a legal contract you can't break

mama - i like what you got
mama - you know what i want
down clarksdale way at the crossroads soul exchange
let's get it on
in the mississippi rain

put on my smart suit
my shiny tie
squeeze the lemon till the juice runs dry
I'm the devil looking for another deal to make
down clarksdale way
a legal contract you can't break

The title made me think of The Monkees, but this ain't no Monkees. The bassline is lean and mean. The guitar sounds positively fuzzy. I can imagine Greeny glistening in the spotlight while singing the song in a very Robert Plant like manner. One foot in the blues, and the other way up in the sky. Superb specimen of primal rock!

Excellent blues-rock song!  Love the guitar sounds and love the lyrics.  So many classic blues words/phrases slipped in.

Man, for me it was easy to press the overdrive button, but for Tim ! There's not any pedal to sing like Robert Plant LOL. That's why when I got back the track at first I said, OK, he did it again ... and then ... WTF! HE DID IT !

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

I like the old sounding new stuff like Greta Van Fleet. This channels that we'll. It's got that 6Os -70s blue rock nailed.

might be some monkey business here or perhaps some good monkeying around...either way I dig this....

my thought right out of the gate is it reminds me of a Samantha Fish track...but heck I'll buy the Zep thing...it's great no matter what it is...
I got to admit the mimic fest is doing it for me...I'm not usually that excited about them...but this one is more popular than the Bee Gee's so far...!!!

yup...great stuff guys..awesome guitar work...fantastic...very Clapton like even...killer that bass line really rocks it...and the slide...wow

I'm embarrassed to say I don't know much Led Zeppelin..... :o I did get some of the references in the lyrics, and this definitely sounds like a real blues rock track to me. I guess there's a load of other blues references in there as well.....

I love the stompy rhythm and the guitar work, it's suitably pentatonic in some of the riffing which gives it a great feel. The vocals are superb, what a great performance, and all round it's a great track, really enjoyed it. It sounds like you were both down that crossroads signing that deal..... ;)
