Max came up with something in the style of the brilliant composer Ennio Morricone who goes from heart-tugging emotion (Cinema Paradiso) to the familiar twang and percussion of the Sergio Leone western scores.

This is definitely in the Cinema Paradiso style.

I added a Western lyric though to join the two together.

Just piano and voice.

This is How the West was Won

This is how the west was won
wooden crosses in the dry earth bleached by sun
heroes and villains
and in between
panning for gold in the silver creek
looking for the sparkle of redemption
and a lucky streak

this is how the west was won
last chance saloons
a glass for everyone
the good die young
in a one horse town
and somewhere in the mountains
the snow starts coming down
don't let this ravine be our grave

but there was love
beneath big skies
you fell in love
the first time that you saw her eyes

And that is how the west was won
wooden crosses in the dry earth bleached by sun
heroes and villains
and in between
panning for gold in the silver creek
looking for the sparkle of redemption
and a lucky streak
to settle down and find some love
it's in the heart
that the west was won

Great song. The piano melody is lovely and your lyrics and vocals fit great and really stand out.

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Very cool collaboration. It has a wistful quality where the music and lyrics meet. Wonderful.

that piano is gorgeous....absolutely huge!

and of course your vocals are excellent...though for me I could use a touch more volume on them...but I understand the mix as is...
and besides no matter how many folks mix something, they will all be slightly (or greatly even) different.

Excellent experience! The complimentary melding of the piano and vocal seems too good to be true. It's hard to believe that the vocal didn't precede the music IMHO. Very well done collaboration!

Those things we take for granted - when we're young and immature - will surely return to haunt us when we're old and insecure

F**king brilliant. I can't really think of much more to say, I just love listening to it from start to finish. Many times.
