This was a style of song myself or keith don't really do a lot. Hip/Hop, Rap, Dance inspired. But i used some loops for this one and added some synths to it and drums from Logic pro X.
It was originally an instrumental but i sent it to keith to see if he had any ideas for lyrics. He came up with some great lyrics and performed them in a "Rap" style, which fit the music great.

Thanks for listening. Darren and Keith

FURTHER COMPLICATIONS

Why? Why? why? why did you walk away? ( x 3)
With a good goodbye, with a good goodbye, with a good Bible

Listen up..
If you wanna kill the monster, you gotta BE a monster, Ya know
Live by the sword, die by the sword
Ya dont get dirty looking in a filthy mirror
If ya don't forgive no-one, no-one's forgiving you
I swear by the Gospel, probably of Mark
This is where He left us, right back at the start
Nothing left to fight about, but this is still war
Its Romans Thirteen: four dumb ass

He said:

Why? Why? why? why did you walk away? ( x 3)

Every day that You are gone, means further complications
Every day that You are gone, we slip a little bit further (down) ( x2)

Why? Why? why? why did you walk away? ( x 3)

Every day that You are gone, means further complications
Every day that You are gone,i say

(Repeats)

Every day that You are gone, means further complications
Every day that You are gone, we slip a little bit further (down)

Why? Why? why? why did you walk away?

I gotta say I never thought I'd here dubstep on this site but your songs are always a pleasant surprise  :D. Love the layering of the vocals and how they come in and out of the mix. That's one trippy electro beat here as well...

This is so well produced, Darren and illustrates your creative versatility in being able to write ... well ... just about anything. I have to say that this genre is not my cup of tea but I can appreciate the excellent working of the track. Hats off to both of you.

Wow, that's so cool ! The singed parts and rap/spoken mix perfectly, and the sound is amazing, kinda retro/80s synth style -  I just love it !

major coolness factor...I love the lyrics as well..
why not?
I admit I don't listen to much of this because I can't deal with alot of the language etc (not that I am a saint about language but the constant bombardment is too much for me)
but I like this ...
it's catchy...I will download and hear again

Cool song and great ideas. I know the pumping compressor sound is part of the genre, but as a listener i'm not fond of the sound. For some reason my brain didn't decode that in the 90's and i've only started hearing this when listening to later songs that are mimicking the style. I got 90's flashbacks from listening to this track and now i have to lie down... just kidding :D

Nicely done song and shows your varied songwriting chops!

Kudos for trying something out of the comfort zone guys... it's always good to have an open mind. It certainly sounds great, that track is really well put together and Keith did a great job with the vocals. Great work gents.
