Not done anything for ages, been in it a bit of a fug regards songwriting. However Greeny nudged me out of it by sending me two new Jemima kite songs to work on. The lyrics and vocals are done for both so just waiting for the other guys to add some fairy dust. Watch this space.
Anyway the nudge from Tim, made me get all my gear out and i was feeling very rusty, so i kept it simple, hopefully not too boring. Just a couple of chords but layered and layered with some bass and drum and a vocal. It's a bit long so i had to shrink it to 128kbps to get it up here. Hope it doesn't bore the pants off you.

 It is what it is.

I saw a shooting star last night
Beneath a waxing orange moon
For just the briefest moment
It shone and then was gone
I never thought to make a wish
I've everything I want
And anything that I don't have
Can wait till there's a need

I've everything I want I got you
What more do I need when I have you
Nothing else matters Cos I got you
Like the cat that got the cream I got you

The touch of your skin it warms my soul
Your laugh and your smile are beautiful
I hold your hand and you hold mine
When I'm with you it feels so right

I've everything I want I got you
What more do I need when I have you
Nothing else matters Cos I got you
Like the cat that got the cream I got you

So let's go out and have some fun
And show the world how to live
And anything that we don't have
Can wait till there's a need

I've everything I want I got you
What more do I need when I have you
Nothing else matters Cos I got you
Like the cat that got the cream I got you

I saw a shooting star last night
Beneath a waxing orange moon
For just the briefest moment
It shone and then was gone
I never thought to make a wish
I've everything I want
Like the cat that got the cream

Love it. It has a super dreamy quality that I snapped out of it when it ended. Miss that crystalline voice of yours. Way to hop back on the horse with authority.  Cool post.

reading the lyrics...that is a great thing when you can write about someone you love...in the way you love them...

its like a love letter to music...

the swriling music works very well in background...this is a nice relaxing track...kind of puts the mind in the alpha freq range....I need to learn that guitar technique you and Kenneth have so well...it's interesting and seems like keyboards...

awesome singing as well..excellent track

Now that's a love song Jim! It's got that ORH dreamy quality but it's also a quality recording, everything is clear and well positioned in the mix, I think it works really well and gives a great platform for the vox, which are up to your usual high standard. A really great listen, had this looping for a while. More please!

Like a big warm embrace in musical form, this wraps itself around you. And for this song the simplicity is absolutely bang on. Beautiful James.

I love the melancholic, mantraesque quality to the track (not to sound too wordy and pretentious ;)). Even though the music is so dreamy, the hopeful lyrics keep the track firmly planted to the ground. Excellent track James.
