thank you Alex and Stephen

Quotelove the piano.

I do not play (unfortunately not or very little piano) in this cover the piano part is played by ... John Jarvis
John Barlow Jarvis (born January 2, 1954 in Pasadena, is an American songwriter, composer, session pianist and recording artist. He was based in Nashville, Tennessee 1982-2014 before moving to Lake Tahoe.

The advantage and the interest of Band in a Box (free publicity) is that the instrumental parts are not midi sounds but .wav files, played by famous recording studios

thanks all guys

my son-in-law is back, he will try to add a pedal steel track

..and then we'll change the piano part because it's played in ternary and the whole piece for the guitar, the bass is played in binary..I admit that it's something that didn't shock me at all, but Guillaume thinks it's better to put a piano track in binary  :(

Oh yes another little thing for those who use BIAB if you enter a grid in a key be careful to change the key of the piece otherwise it can cause some distortion with notes that are not in the scale

Lovely performance JP. Mark Knopfler has some really super solo material and some of it veers into country but needless to say it is always done with great skill and taste. Really well done and love that MK style guitar playing towards the end. I was lucky enough to see him in concert in 2015 and I won't forget it.

Really great stuff here JP. I just loved the lead guitar and your soft vocals work really well. Lovely feel to this one, very well done.

I'm back for a third listen and agree with the comments that it gets better each listen.  It's great all around.  Very peaceful.  The vocal is especially great - I would like to know the details on how it was recorded and processed!  Another idea is that I would like to hear this translated and sung in French - honestly, if you could do it that would be really cool!

the voice is recorded on Reaper with an AKG Perception 200 microphone
the sound of this voice track is processed with Waves CLA vocal and CLA 2A Stereo plug ins

Excellent cover JP! The Tele guitar fills and lead solo sounds so good. Your vocal is a great fit for this song. Nicely done!

classy as always JP! Knopfler is a great fan of american music (really an expert, to me), he can write a good country song and blues as well ;-)
