...a title that goes well with our sad time!...

The little story: strangely I didn't know this song! my son-in-law Guillaume was practicing with his new pedal steel in backtrak

and so I listened to the version on you tube interpreted by Randy Travis who is a great figure of the country music..and that's why I submitted it in country festival

...but in fact this song is by Mark Knoppfer, so is it really country music...not sure...although this song was ranked 24 in the Billboard Hot Country

on this version I don't do the piano, which is played by BIAB

On the other hand singing guitar strum, and the lead guitar part "in the style of" Mark Knoppfer, with my telecaster built in kit for 79 euros...and that I like more and more

My son-in-law Guillaume is away, he will probably add a Pedal Seel guitar sample when he comes back ;D
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Oh well ........

Nice cover brother as mentioned above this was perfect for your vocal. This song in country style could easily be turned into a blues number'
Nice job
Tim
Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

guitarron

Great job! , nice clean production. Its good even without the pedal steel.

Oh, this is special. Lovely interpretation of a fine tune. I would love to hear it with pedal steel just so somebody can prove that those contraptions can actually be played. Lovely solo as well. Reminds me of Clapton's "Never Make You Cry" solo, which is heart-wrenching.

QuoteLovely solo as well. Reminds me of Clapton's "Never Make You Cry" solo, which is heart-wrenching.
.as often I tried to reproduce the solo note for note..but after a few bars I find it tedious and I go into my own playing habits (easy way)
QuoteI would love to hear it with pedal steel just so somebody can prove that those contraptions can actually be played
you're right Booby, playing pedal steel is a challenge...with 4 (or 6) pedals and 3 knee pads (bend), the task is colossal but worth it as the harmonic and melodic possibilities are immense
Well, considering the time it would take to invest and my current age, I leave that to the younger ones ;D

love the piano...and of course your singing...there is something very comforting to me in your voice...thanks for that!

funny thing is almost all these country songs are like originals for me...I don't listen to country much... it's not that I don't like it.  More like a person only has so much time..

fine, fine playing of that guitar JP
