Summer Fest

Had it in my head to give the Lizzy type twin lead a go for a couple of months now. Also wanted to put something in for at least one of the fests as I haven't been too productive for a while. Anyway hope you enjoy!

Long Hot Summers

I still remember when I was a boy
Taking you by the hand
We were there looking into the flames
With our feet making tracks in the sand

But it's all
So long ago

I can recall that you were just seventeen
And I asked you if you wanted to dance
You led me straight onto the dance floor
Man that was sweet romance

Now it's just
A memory

Back then we were young we were free
And we didn't know any better
That was way back when
In the long hot summers

I don't think we even said our goodbyes
When I saw you that one last time
But I know it was love and I know that it's true
That  that summer that you were mine

But it's all
So long ago

Back then we were young we were free
And we didn't know any better
That was way back when
In the long hot summers

Man this sounds like a lost Lizzy track !!

Fabulous tune, the guitars are spot on with the same kind of harmonies as Lizzy would use and the vocals sounds just like Phil.

Wow this is good,

I'm a huge Lizzy fan and this just made my day !

That's brilliant Mike - love the guitar work and the vocals. I know it's been said already but definitely sounds like a Thin Lizzy song, which ain't a bad thing !

Holy crap, this is the Biz...pun intended. Between the duel guitars and the lead vocals, it is uncannily Lizzy. Great tune to boot.

Great post!

Great song Mike. I love the twin lead guitars. Well played. The drums sound great too. What did you use for them?

Thanks everyone...

64, the whole thing is recorded in garageband. The drums are done by putting down a very simple 4/4 pattern and then moving the "midi blocks" around manually creating slightly different feel for different sections, adding cymbal hits and fills, etc. They have different drum kits available, I used the "Brooklyn" one... I use that one a lot as it sounds nice and raw and real to me. I also vary the volume on some of the hits here and there to give a more real feel.
