Hello guys!
Back after a 15 days mess due to a definitive failure of my computer!

I got back all my favorite softwares..except EZ Drumer, for the moment

My children came for a few days (Guillaume my son-in-law came with his beautiful pedal steel guitar WPS (german custom)

we made a first draft, quickly done, of this Damien Durado's song "Museum of flight

it's average, and we'll do a new version in a few days...

Guillaume is on vocals/ Guitar/ Pedal steel guitar
I'm on bass and guitar
Cecile is on the 12 strings electric guitar Harley Benton

Unfortunately no drums part

Well it's good to hear you got most of your PC back in working order. It's never a fun thing when you experience a crash.
So this isn't bad for a first run on the steel. I'm not familiar with the song or artist, but I gather from what I have heard
that he may be a folk or pop songwriter. Either way it sounds like a nice tune to cover and you guys put it out with very
limited time to tame the beast.

I still do not have a pedal steel but I know it takes a lot of practice to be organized and make it sound like what you hear in
your head. Coordination - like rubbing the top of your head counterclockwise, rubbing your stomach clockwise while hopping
on one foot and staying in time. OK, so that's a frightening sight but you get what I mean.

Anytime I have watched steel players I always picked their brain between sets for different techniques and how to do the
pedal and knee lever dance for good results. I have heard a lot of different ways and uses on these instruments but it seems
they all agree about foot placement and strength. How to come off the bend seems more important than the bend itself.

Is this guitar tuned to an open E9 or C6? I know there are other ways to tune but these 2 seem to be the most popular tunings.
It is a very beautiful instrument. Keep at it guys and I can't wait to hear it again.

That's exactly it! My son-in-law Guillaume is starting to play it and he's starting to play with 2 pedals and the volume pedal
For my part, considering the difficulty, I prefer to stick to the lap steel (I now have a double neck lap steel, one with 2 bending levers

...but the melodic and harmonic possibilities of the steel pedal are incredible

It seems to me that it's in B11, Guillaume and Cécile are gone for a few days at the mar, and when he comes back we'll make another one (guillaume is not too happy with the take we made, he thinks that the lap steel sounds too much like an organ.

Agreeing with Alex here.. lovely work. I'm especially liking the heartfelt vocals.
Well done on this!

Some lovely sounds in there and a delightful song. Definitely worthy of a full production job.
