Me & Max up to our tricks again  ;D

Musically this is all Max (guitars, drums, bass). I'm just singing.

I drank the dregs
I drank the demons too
I couldn't reconcile
the things I said to you
and there's a black flag
where my king fell to the ground
when Saturday night becomes Sunday morning

I joined the battle
but got outflanked by life
the city cut me up
like a fairground switchblade knife
there's no regret that I don't recognise
avoiding mirrors
just in case I catch my eye

so I drown the past
I drown the future too
painting Loserville
a deeper shade of blue
in a motel on the outskirts
with HBO and ice
when Saturday night becomes Sunday morning

sing along
you already know the words
cause we're two birds of paradise
partners in this crime
right down the line
slipping our cage
and slipping away

sing along
you already know the score
what's behind that door
what the world is looking for
a little love
and a tender touch

catching bullets
white hot between my teeth
looking for a little light relief
there's no regret that I don't recognise
avoiding mirrors
just in case I catch my eye

so I drank the dregs
I drank the demons too
I couldn't reconcile
the things I said to you
and there's a black flag
where my king fell to the ground
when Saturday night becomes Sunday morning

Here I am ... this one reflects the lazyness of summer (on my side) : no production, no takes, chords sequence half stolen (from a lazy summer movie). At the end, as always, I count on the man LoL

Another fine collab. Tim and Max! Excellent words and the solo guitar strumming sparkles. It might be sad ballad but it's beautifully done!

Dark introspective song that you guys have constructed so well. No frills needed - just a cool laid-back accompaniment and the perfect emotive vocal. Great lyrics as always, Tim.

And what great tricks they are! Loved the stripped back openness of this one which really gives the vocals room to express themselves. Which they do so well. A very potent partnership.

Very nice.  The drums are pretty low, but I think this even needs drums.  Maybe you could just turn them off?  I love the sparse arrangement!
