Sorry, i just couldn't stop myself from uploading this old song here. It's the first one i did together with my old songwriting partner, and the lyrics are based in reality (well maybe not the bridge part). At that time we both had horrible computers, and were learning Reaper. I recorded all the guitars thru SimulAnalog Guitarsuite Vst, and the bass was direct. The guitar was MIM Stratocaster, and the bass was an old Framus bass that didn't stay in tune. I struggled with the lack of proper gain, and playing any kinds of leads was a pain. The drums were a combination of Jamstix 1, and glorious case of finger drumming. At that time we had the GREAT IDEA that we'd mix the song for clock radios! I'm not sure how well the mix would translate thru a clock radio, but it sure does sound rough when listened thru proper means :) If i could go back in time i'd revisit the mix, and keep the important frequencies.

This will be the last one of these old ones :) Reminiscing is good sometimes, but up a head for the new ones. I guess i just wanted to pay my dues, and show where i'm coming from solo-duo songwriting wise.

Admin: Please, feel free to remove these old songs if they're breaking the forum rules in anyway, or are seen as overkill!

For an oldie, I think it sounds pretty good. I'm kind of hearing an early Who influence in the vocals. I know what you mean about wanting to go back and re-do or remix. I think we all would like to to that on certain songs but if we did how would we know where we came from musically, lol! I find it best to let a sleeping mix lie and move on to the next new one. Well done here!

Love the riffs and the attitude. A total rocker. And that little melodic interlude at 1:00 (and on the fade) was a very cool twist. Your English accents are impressive! Sounds like you learned then from Jagger / Richards, lol. Great stuff :-)

>Your English accents are impressive!

I wish! The vocals in this one (as in the other J&Manning duo-songwriting "partnership!") were done by my brilliant Cockney friend! :) So that's real English you're hearing.

My Finglish is very easy to spot as some of the words are really troublesome!

I'm going to tell a secret here. In the first song i uploaded. The vocals start with the word SITTING. I'm hearing an extra "H" in the vocals _everytime_  :P I tried to avoid it, but couldn't.... it turns the whole meaning into something more sinister :D.

BTW thanks for the comments everybody!

Yeah, this one rocks! I too like those little melodic guitar parts, they really add a good hook to the song. Yes, it could do with remixzing bt I would say leave it as is and move on to your new stuff. You clearly have some talent to share.... ;)

oh yes... I got sucked right in....

this is great as is...rock and roll should be raw and man this is just plain raw goodness and a bit of great humor too...

I could imagine this breaking out on a Saturday night in a packed bar after everyone has had about 6 and the floor would be caving in and the speakers would be wobbling from the people jumped around...

crikey !  as they say ....this is bloody hard rockin goodness.. I am listening with headphones..will listen on monitors when I can
