Hi guys,
I always remember this song being played from my dads collection so its got good memories. Ive decided for this fest to do a song that means something from my childhood so next one will be for my mum x
This recording is just me and my Michael kelly telecaster so pretty stripped back.
I always thought Hank wrote it.
Heres the info

"Lovesick Blues" is a show tune written by Cliff Friend and Irving Mills. The song first appeared in the 1922 musical Oh, Ernest. It was first recorded by Elsie Clark and then by Jack Shea (both 1922). Emmett Miller recorded it in 1925 and 1928, followed by country music singer Rex Griffin circa 1938. The recordings by Griffin and Miller inspired Hank Williams to perform the song during his first appearances on the Louisiana Hayride radio show in 1948. Receiving an enthusiastic reception from the audience, Williams decided to record his own version despite initial push back from his producer Fred Rose and his band.

Really nice cover version. The sounds faithful to the era. I like the stripes back sound, nice playing and great vocals too.

I have 2 profiles on this site, (NOW COMBINED INTO ONE PROFILE PAGE)
One is a musical partnership with Keith Allen, ( we record songs as "The Devil's Toupee").
The 2nd one is for my other musical projects and collaborations. (DarrenG)
Thanks for listening.

Hey Kenny I like your take on this classic from the guitar tap count off to the rotary swirl at the end. Good job.
My Dad was a big Hank fan and country/bluegrass advocate for the festivals we attended.

Don't know the original but you did a great job here. Your vocals are superb and I loved the back story. A really good way to remember your dad and the happy days of youth. Looking forward to the next one....

A great version of Lovesick Blues Kenny! The acoustic sounds real good. An acoustic and your voice works perfectly!
