Sad news. Still, what a great character and what a great band. He leaves one heck of a legacy, an absolute lynch pin in one of the greatest bands of all time. RIP.

You know, I don't know much about Dusty Hill. Never listened too closely, or learned any of his bass parts. But a couple of years ago, I saw this video about his bass rig – super simple, a little dirty, with an octave divider and a micro Thumpinator – and it was like a window into his soul. I thought, This guy gets it.

This is still hard to imagine. Just like when we lost EVH, Neil Peart and the other recent fallen comrades of music.

ZZ TOP just won't be the same without that other beard out front and that great vocal he always delivered.

ZZ Top are one of my favourite bands and it's really bad about Dusty.

I had tickets to see them once but messed the days up and missed them.
