Just acoustic guitar and vocals. We liked the purity of keeping this one stripped back to the essentials. I love Max's playing here - beautiful!

Catching Ghosts

there are rooms i"ve had to lock
and boats that never dock
in this lonely harbour
my heart once had a crew
but they mutineed in uniforms of faded blue

3am and sober
this war is never over
whatever side you're told you're on
but i've got something cooking
down here in the basement
a singer and his small hours song

there are ghosts I try to catch
and some that fall through gaps
in the cool of the parlour
they have their point of view
in military uniforms
and armour

catching ghosts
when I should be with the living
not listening to the ticking
of the watches of the dead
catching ghosts
when i should be with the living
living in the moment
for the moment

there are rooms i"ve had to lock
and boats that never dock
in this lonely harbour
my heart once had a crew
but they mutineed in uniforms of faded blue

there are ghosts I try to catch
and some that fall through gaps
in the cool of the parlour
they have their point of view
in military uniforms
and armour

Second that!

I love the harmonies. I was thinking, I hope this stripped-down thing of beauty won't be so stripped-down that there are no harmonies. And then they arrived.

I was searching for something clever to say but I found none except that I really like this song ... I will just say that Tim passed with flying colours the folk-club admission test LoL.

I agree with Ted, the harmonies are a musical rush - and with your profound lyrics and acoustic performance, a total winner in my book!

Those things we take for granted - when we're young and immature - will surely return to haunt us when we're old and insecure

Some wonderful and skillful acoustic playing Max! Great words and vocal Tim and superb harmonies. You two have a stripped down winner here!

Test, test, one, two, three.....is this mic on?

Lovely imagery in the lyrics and perfectly performed. Love the folky vibe with that excellent acoustic bed and the cool harmonies. No over-production here just the great stripped-back presentation that works just right.

Oh my days!  This is beautiful.  Stripped back - but totally complete. Fine guitar playing indeed Max, and your vocals and lyrics, Tim, are very, very good.

I have been playing catch up on the site, but I'm so glad I got to this one early.
Bravo
