Big Hawkwind fan here, so this was great fun. Although if a Hawkwind song has more than 2 chords I think it's on the complicated side...... :D

I haven't discovered Hawkwind. I always hear them mentioned mockingly by King Crimson fans on Facebook. What should I check out? Is there a worthy "Best Of" selection? You know what I like, Nigel.

Hawkwind were a really important underground band in the UK from the late 60s on, and are still going in some form or another. Some of their stuff is stunningly good, some of it is embarrassingly bad tripped out cod sci-fi/mythology stuff. And of course Lemmy was the bassist in Hawkwind until he got kicked out and formed Motorhead.

Their classic single is "Silver Machine" (with Lemmy on vocals). My personal favourite album, and the one I think you might will like, is "Quark, Strangeness and Charm" because it blends new wave and space rock. Quite a mix....... Just try "Spirit of the Age" for starters, it blends a classic two-chord jam with some amazing poetry from Robert Calvert. It's better than it sounds!

I just gave Jeff Bezos $10, and it's currently downloading.

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away
