This is just a perfect song for summer in Norway. A lot of hills to climb and views to take in.
Love it.

Loved it! A great song for traveling and interesting to see the comments relating to Paul Simon world music... which sure makes sense!

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

Great song and collaboration. Yeah I'm hearing a bit of Paul Simon in the music and the vocals. I like the sound of the music. Great stuff.

I have 2 profiles on this site, (NOW COMBINED INTO ONE PROFILE PAGE)
One is a musical partnership with Keith Allen, ( we record songs as "The Devil's Toupee").
The 2nd one is for my other musical projects and collaborations. (DarrenG)
Thanks for listening.

I'm a sucker for 6/8. Its great on the fiddle, it just dances along. This is no exception, this one get you nodding and tapping along to a jig.
Awesome and inventive.

It doesn't come naturally. I really had to work at it. It still falls apart if I try to do it at the hyper speed of many Malagasy songs. And when I play Malagasy songs at slow speed, often I still can't find one. It's really humbling.

Quote from: hardlock on July 01, 2021, 04:27:00 AMHaving messed around with "making" harmonies from one's original vocal track via pitch shifting in Audacity, I bow to your creativity in the fine art of hacking! 8)

I probably would had not done it if it weren't specifically over a diminished-seventh chord – which made it really easy. I just shifted everything up a minor third ("bur-ning my"). And moved "head" down a half-step to fit with the next chord.

The Paul Simon and Graceland comparisons are too kind. That is a fantastic album, and evidently a touchstone for many people vis-a-vis their exposure to African music. I began exploring African sounds a few years before Graceland came out. People should be saying, "Paul, your stuff really reminds me of Ted Johnson." But I had the disadvantages of being, younger, poorer, unknown, and less brilliant. It's really not fair how the deck was stacked against me.  ;)

I totally get the Paul Simon comments and agreed the music is very much that way.  But for me the voice, this could be a Peter Gabriel track...
what a view?  What a voice!  I admit though the photo of the view is worth a few songs...
great track fellas.

It is going to take me a while to get caught up with everyone's music --- Ted steered me back to Songcrafters - so decided to hit his jukebox --- may need to get me some more thumb drives to save all this music.  Great Collab
