I had a lot of fun recording this.
"PS I love you" is on the B-side of a Beatles' single my aunt owns, and I remember hearing the song since I was very young.
In my opinion, early Beatles are challenging because they are very dated to that rock'n'roll era, and today they sound a bit (is it only me?) anachronic.
But on the other hand, I am a sucker for those old 50's ballads, so after learning the song, I started to experiment adding more swing and singing more like Louis Armstrong. I think it worked, despite my voice sounds sometimes less of Armstrong's and more like Cannibal Corpse's.

Recorded with Cubasis on the Ipad, with acoustic ukulele, digital piano, Nuvo Dood (a sort of plastic clarinet / recorder). The bass is my new Ibanez PNB14E acoustic, short scale bass. The recording of the bass was a bit difficult in the beginning but I think I nailed it in the end: its piezzo is too hot, so I had to reduce the volume of the preamp, especially on the bass. After recording I EQed to reduce -18 dB at 5k Hz (to remove the sound of frets) and increased +6 dB at around 100 Hz to make it more boomy. If you check carefully you see it is no double bass, and there is still a bit of distortion on the low harmonics (from the mic), but it is not that obvious.

That's it.

Yep, this is different. I don't actually remember the original as I was not really a Beatles fan (or is that heresy)
Enjoyed the listen.    Willie

Cannibal Corpse cover the Beatles.....? Now there's a concept! This is huge fun, I love the instrumentation and the laid back feel. The vocals were great fun, I think they worked for the style you created. I don't remember the original but this was a really enjoyable listen.

Lovely, quirky little rendition. Loved the jazzy instrumental parts and walking bass especially. I can see where you looking for influence in Louis Armstrong, also has a bit of a Tom Waits vibe as well.

Yes I can see someone playing this down in the French quarter here in New Orleans
Nice rendition

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

I do love hearing music that is very old or even historical like very old jazz or blues, even old crooners. For some reason I can feel a sense of history in them that moves me. This is a very interesting take on a Beatles number. The Louis Armstrong vocals work well.

PS I love you?? I didn't remember this song at all (so I listened to it again on YT) it's true in the first beatles record in 1962..at that time I was radically more fans of the Rolling stones which was frankly more "blues"...
..but you made a reinterpretation of this song a little "clean" of beatles frankly interesting with a choice of interesting instruments a duet bass / Uke very jazzy and a beautiful intervention of the psudo clarinet,...and the voice is very bluesy
