Hi all, hope you are all well and Covid free. I was trying to remember when the last peaceful march was, before the trouble making scum took over and ruined it for those that had a genuine grievance. And how many parents really know what their children get up to when they leave the house. A bit heavy for me but it seemed like that sort of a day.

Breaking down the barriers, Breaking all the rulles
Hoping to get pictured for the 7 o'clock news
Wear a maskand hide behind a hoody that he wears
Breaking down society and he don't really care

But his mother says he's a good boy
Loves his old Nan, does what he can
Strike me dead if I tell a lie
He wouldn't let me down
He wouldn't make me cry

Jump on cars set them on fire
And see them burn, the flames are getting higher
He threw a bottle, hit a woman on the head
She goes down her face has turned all red

But his mother says he's a good boy
Loves his old Nan, does what he can
Strike me dead if I tell a lie
He wouldn't let me down
He wouldn't make me cry

A peaceful march to set the country free
On a sunday afternoon
But that's not what I see.

Instrumental

And his mother says he's a good boy
Loves his old Nan, does what he can
Strike me dead if I tell a lie
He wouldn't let me down
He wouldn't make me cry

Those things we take for granted - when we're young and immature - will surely return to haunt us when we're old and insecure

Interesting, the concept is a bit like "No thugs in our house" by XTC. Great playing as always and a nice arrangement here, especially over the choruses.

Yes a brilliantly observed piece of writing. It is so true, there is a new breed of people that think they can cause mayhem on one hand but don't feel in any way they should be held accountable. Great tune too... really has an edge.

I flippin love this one Will..... has a bit of Neil Young vibe to me... and that is great...

it's crazy...it doesn't matter what decade it is...someone is protesting something... I suspect it has gone on for decades and centuries...

in the 60's the hippies marched against the government...now most of them run the government and people protest them...it's a vicious cycle that I don't think will ever end...

love the guitar work once again.....fantastic

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Excellent. Is that a hammond in the background?

A really powerful song. It begins like rant against "those damn destructive protesters" set to music. But it quickly redirects the focus from damage to property, to the emotional toll when a loved one is radicalized. You can feel the heartbreak when you sing in the Mother's voice, "Strike me dead if I tell a lie."

I like that the vocal harmonies drop off in the chorus, and it's a single voice that begins, "But his mother says he's a good boy..." (You sometimes do harmonies from beginning to end, so this came as a surprise – and it helps the dynamics of the song.)

Superb!
