... it took a friend from London to make me dream again about my own city ! I'm also happy to do a little appearance in the lyrics of the song ;-)
In this one I play moog and funky bass, Tim everything else (acustic/electric guitars/bass/harmonies).
It's called

Rome (In the Summertime)

the sunset bleeds biretta red
did magna mater bless
the crimson of this wine that tastes so fine?

in piazza della rotonda
when the crowds have fled the scene
leave me with the lights of this fevered dream

in rome in the summertime
rome in the summertime
rome rome rome in the summertime
rome in the summertime

romulus and remus feed
and the nighttime consumes me
digging in the dirt of history

in piazza della rotonda
when the crowds have fled the scene
leave me with the lights of this fevered dream

in rome in the summertime
rome in the summertime
rome rome rome in the summertime
rome in the summertime

feel the heat of the summertime
feel the beat when the church bells chime
rock and roll summertime
rome in the summertime

the legions of the starless night
are ready for another fight
the flicker of the tv screens
in apartments as the dark streets sleep
the composer with his modes and scales
another song with billowed sails
la dolce vita for the soul
like the roar of another goal

in rome in the summertime
rome in the summertime
rome rome rome in the summertime
rome in the summertime

Love the over all energy and that syncopated groove of the moog'

The vocal harmonies are indeed something special.

Those things we take for granted - when we're young and immature - will surely return to haunt us when we're old and insecure

Oh wow, I wasn't expecting this. Like Hilary says, insanely catchy! This is very different and quite wonderful. Just love that core Moog and funky bass, the bass playing and bass sound is superb. But the way Tim weaves his guitars into this really takes it to another level, it really adds some powerful dynamics with the way the guitars build the chorus but then drop back during the verses. And the vocals and especially the harmonies are sublime. The lyrics create great images and have a hooky chorus that has massive hit written all over it.

Just loved it all from start to finish. Brilliant work guys!

Very original and creative... that is one great but quite whacky keyboard line. Really good feel good tune.

A very catchy collab here guys, great lyrics. I have been in Rome in the summer time and it was 107degrees in the shade. I loved the colours of the buildings and hope to get back one day. In the Spring or Autumn perhaps.
Nice work.     Willie

This is so good in so many levels. There is so much going on, and yet the sounds doesn't get muddy or confusing!
The bass is stellar! Love that ascending and descending octaves on the pre-chorus!

...And the end of course! Your fellow Dave504 would be proud!  ;D
