Making CDs?

Hey guys, I'm wondering if anybody here has any information on making CD labels/cover art, etc....I'm thinking, with today's technology there's got to be some FREE CD making software out there.  I'm stressing the word "FREE" lol.  I know where to go if I want a bunch of professional CDs, but I don't need professional or expensive.  They're just for friends and family.

I'm thinking....I have some cases, I'd just like to have a nice print-out for a cover and other labeling.  As far as the actual CD, my computer doesn't have disc printing, so I'm looking for alternative routes.  I think I've seen kits at Walmart, but I just thought I'd check if you all knew of any online resources...once again, "FREE" would be a major plus!! Any information or additional ideas would be great! Thanks~

Something like this might do the trick.  You can choose what kind of case and design the insert by uploading photos or using their's....They let you use the demo for free.  If you were to print in demo mode, there would be some words on your artwork. It would cost $19 to use this software online w/o restrictions............I'm gonna keep looking!! :P :P

I use to have one of these: http://www.cdstomper.com/

Worked pretty well as long as you were mindful of the using the stomper to apply the label. IF I remember right, it came with a program to place your artwork on there. Not sure, because I used it with photoshop.

Hmm... that seems like it's selling for a lot more than it was when I got it more than 6 years ago.

I'll keep an eye out for something better. :)

I just use a word processor or drawing program. For example, here are some free templates you can download for OpenOffice:

I'm not sure if they'll work in Microsoft Office, but they might. Either way, you might want to download and install the FREE OpenOffice suite which is awesome.

It's available for Linux, Windows, and Mac. It can read and write Microsoft Office files. And it's FREE.

I found this...

Been messing around with it. Seems simple and most features are there, including inserts and covers.

And it's FREE
