Nothing really innovative about this song but I had a lot of fun recording it. My wife says it's just a racket LOL

You're pretty as a picture, you're pretty as a flower;
Looking like a princess captured in a tower
Maybe it's the music or just the witching hour.
Baby what I'm thinking

Been watching you all night and I've caught the odd glance
Watching me watching you, watching you dance.
You maybe guessed what's on my mind but I'll tell you in advance
This might be our one chance

To steal you away by the light of this summer moon
To steal you away go get ourselves a little room
To steal you away nobody need know just what we're doing
Hey tell me what you say
Can I steal you away.

This party went stale long ago
Not exactly New Year's Eve
Best thing we can do is get up go and leave

You maybe guessed what's on my mind but I'll tell you in advance
This might be our last chance

To steal you away by the light of this summer moon
To steal you away go get ourselves a little room
To steal you away nobody need know just what we're doing
Hey tell me what you say
Can I steal you away.
Steal you away, sneak out of here without a sound
Steal you away, sneak out of here from this old crowd
Steal you away, put the pedal to the metal clean out of town
Hey tell me what you say
Can I steal you away.

the lyrics remind me alot of Little River Band...a very underrated group IMO.... come to think of it...the music has a hint of that too... I dunno, maybe it's the Australian thing!!!!
Yes...LRB is my favorite Australia band...but Ray you are way up there now!
this song has alot of great stuff in it...
kind of southern rock guitar with blue grass edge banjo...and a little mouth organ going.....the piano....acoustic guitar and that pro sounding ending

Nicely constructed song and some great performances. Love the harmonica.

About radio ready, I'd say.

Ignore the wife ray..this is no way a racket lol. This sounds bloody great. I like the different styles in this, you can't really categorise it, a bit of rock, blues, country rolled into one. I agree a bit with what Stephen said too. That harmonica sounds awesome and love the banjo too. Great lyrics and vocals and performance and production is always class.

Well this is right up my alley as this type of music is what we play and listen to here in Mississippi love the racket could be hearing this on the radio no problem the mix of banjo and harp really set this song off

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

LoL I read on a wynton marsalis book, that an old jazz player, asked by his disciples, aswered: OK you want to do something new ... but what about something good instead ?

Ray, didn't think your songs could get any better but this is a perfect piece of music! As someone else once said: "checks all the boxes for me". The best yet! Going straight to my play list. 8)

To my ear this has fine 80's vibe! So, well written and performed. Nice instumentation and everything put well together, too.

The chorus is so catchy, your song should deserve time on air!!
