This song has one of my favourite ever basslines ( especially those 5 sec at 2:36   ;D ).
This Beatlesfest was the right opportunity to get to learn it and pay my homage to Paul, the bassist.

When I finished my first version, I was happy that I had managed to play the song kind of faithfully (with my fender jazz bass giving it a more brighter tone, and with the guitar solo played on my Risa electric uke), but at the same time, a bit annoyed that it was missing a bit of that dasilvasings experimentalism. So I ended up reprogramming the drums for a more swingy / reggae beat, I rerecorded the bass with a more relaxed feel, and finally added some background vocals with my EHX voicebox vocoder.

I used Cubasis for recording and Final Touch for mastering, both on Ipad.

So... nevermind the bollocks... here's dasilvasings...

Nice one DSS - the bass and guitar are quite faithful to the original - in my estimation, and I found the experimental bits quirky and interesting. Great vocal, and the vocoder bits were very cool.

Well done!

Oh I loved this. I've been listening to a lot of bass lines lately. This a great and a like the way to "dasilva'd" it up and a uke solo - impressive!

oh yes really a very nice bass line and a nice tribute to Macca as a bass player, and the treatment of the voices gives an original touch while remaining completely in the respect of the melodic line...nice version...not to mention the solo with the electric Uke, which must not be really simple

hats off to
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Cracking bass playing, it is a great bass line. I really like the effect on the vocals it has that psychadelic feel. Good cover!

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Lovely version, I think your changes and additions make this quite special, the backing vox in particular give this a lovely feel. But I really, really liked the bass playing, Macca is so good and you really did him justice here. Bravo!

Awesome job, I enjoyed this very much.  Impressive that you took the time to figure out and reproduce so perfectly the original bass line (and guitar solo!)
