The story of this song, source Wikipedia
Quote50 years later, the young British woman who inspired Paul Simon: the woman immortalized in Kathy's Song now lives in a peaceful Welsh village.
Kathleen Chitty lives in a small three-bedroom house in a Welsh village.
But her inspiration helped make Paul Simon's career an international celebrity.
Ms. Chitty couldn't handle the enormous attention from music journalists.
Simon once said that their relationship was his "most peaceful time"

Kathy's song was on the first Simon and Garfunkel album, released in France in 1966, and I believe it was on this record that I heard the first finguer pincking and it was a revelation and guided my approach to guitar for the next several years (followed by John Renborn, Bert Jansh, Chet Atkins/Dadi, Jerry Reed, Bensusan, I believe in order  :)

absolutely gorgeous playing and singing JP....  Incredible.... thanks... you sound a bit like Tom Petty on here...perhaps a little like Dylan....because Tom Petty tried to emulate Dylan...which i never understood because to me Tom Petty was a much better singer than Bob Dylan....just my opinion though....

Really well done JP. Not a song I knew, but it's a lovely song. I like the story behind it and I always have so much respect for people that don't want public attention or intrusion in their lives. It's a good quality.

Great finger picking, I am a bit jealous I have to admit. I do try finger picking a little sometimes, but it demands a lot of dedication to do it right which sadly I am too lazy to give :) Great work though.

Merci Mike

and oups ma answer for Stephen has been truncated I'm rewriting it here

Quotehank you Stephen, I enjoyed doing this song and paradoxically I did it quite easily thanks to my old finguer playing remains
..and I had the good idea to take my Hirade Takamine nylon string guitar and finally it sounds really good in picking

The comparison with Tom Petty is rather flattering and unexpected...and so I found this little gem of a "collaboration" between Dylan, Petty, Harrisson and Orbison (the Travelling Wilburys) performing Harrisson's Handle with Care...magic

A beautiful rendition of a beautiful song. The intricate finger style is very well performed, JP and the laid back vocal sounds perfect for this song. Great job; well done.
