first time I ever recorded an acoustic guitar with me playing it... and I used the Zoom recorder mics and did the whole recording and mixing on the zoom.  The mics are stereo so I recorded 2 different stereo tracks of acoustic guitar (my sons).  I bounced them onto two new stereo tracks using some of the stereo effects on the zoom for enhanced sound.  Then I bounced them from stereo to mono and added distortion to those tracks and panned them far left and right and then mixed those in and out of the final mix.

This is a bit of self pity I would say...I suppose it might help to get it off my chest.  I don't deal well with certain aspects of life... I do like my singing on this though.  I generally don't indulge in saying GD but in the case of the pills I will...

grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....!!!!

and I suppose I need to say that I have nothing really against modern medicine...there's lots of people alive because of "pills".... but it's my rebellion toward the whole idea of having to live this way....makes me kind of sick...

Where is the fire?  Where is the desire?  I can't seem to find anything but my flat tire.  Looking for my pills, their on the window sill.  Searching for revenge from a blood thirsty lost fire.  It doesn't make sense, this present tense.  I'm looking for a future inside the pleasure dome.  It's hot inside, I can't seem to get cool.  It's cold inside, I can't seem to get warm.
People they notice now.  They ask me what is wrong.  Guess it's pretty obvious from my frown.  It's right around the corner, just around the bend.  Soon they'll find me in the body pyre, in the body pyre, in the bloody fire, in the bloody fire, in the bloody fire.
Doctor says "Don't worry sir, we have a pill for that."  What I cannot bring myself to say is sir, there's no cure for this.  He wouldn't understand a single word I said as he writes another script.  We have a pill for that, we have a pill for that, we have a pill for that.
I don't want your goddamn pill.  I don't want your goddamn pill.  I know I shouldn't be angry, but sometimes I just can't help it.  My rebellion rises up against it, this awful, this awful age.
It's right around the corner, just around the bend.  Soon they'll find me in the body pyre, in the body pyre, in the bloody fire, in the bloody fire, in the bloody fire.

Cool bluesy feel on that acoustic guitar, Stephen and I agree your vocals sound great and expressive on this track. Cool lyrics too. Great job; well done.

Great song - very unique in it's presentation. Dig the vocals & harmonies!

Made me remember the lyrics from the 60's song: "God Damn the Pusher Man". I was in my teens and from a Christian household and that song from Steppenwolf drove my dad mad!  But I kept telling him, hey, but it's condemning the bad guys already! 8)

Ken, I remember that song well and yes I had that conversation with friends as we listened to that...and you are right...it was a condemnation of the pusher for sure...interesting remembrance

I really like this song, the context of the lyrics , your vocals sound great. The acoustic melody is very good and love the idea for the distortion on the other track, that really works. Great song Stephen. :)

I'm loving the acoustic sounds and those distortion effects work really well, very imaginative as always. Your vocals sound good on this as well, like they did on your Helter Skelter cover, you created a really interesting vibe and sound with this. Really innovative as always, and sounds darned good to me!

nice job of setting up the music...I'd love to read the lyrics Stephen, if you can put them in a drop down box

Great ideas and recording Steve. Liking the fading in and out guitars. Can sense the underneath anger too. Been on blood pressure meds for many years myself. Can't avoid it.  Cool tune!
