This is a new one from us, ( myself and Keith Allen) It's about the angst of being a teenager.

I sent the backer track to keith, ( drums from Logic Pro, bass was played on keyboard, rhythm guitar with flanger effect, organ using Logic Pro) who added lead guitar solo and lyrics. Thanks for listening. :)

 Baptism of Fire

Thirteen and on the up...us youngsters make no sense
Kicking down the walls...whilst sitting on the fence
I gave her sweets and pennies...she ate and spent the lot
Left me shamed and broken...she thought I'd lost the plot

Never looking forward...always looking back
Got me where I am today...derailed and off the track
I'm sorry for what happened...whilst I wasn't being alert
I'm sorry for my haircut...and the colour of my shirt

Baptism of fire... (Will you never learn? Give me matches all to burn)
Baptism of fire... (Smoke until you burn, smoke until you burn)

(INST)

From the wrecker who made you build it...to the architect who tore it down
From your parents who gave it to ya...to the thief who stole ya crown
And the teacher who made ya wear it...she couldn't dress herself at school
You listened but never heard her...make a chair out of a stool

Something simply complicated...the tart that drives too fast
A motor to sit in the back in...was nothing built to last?
I'm sorry for what happened...whilst I wasn't being alert
I'm sorry for my haircut...and the colour of my shirt

Baptism of fire... (Will you never learn? Give me matches all to burn)
Baptism of fire... (Smoke until you burn, smoke until you burn)

Baptism of fire.......................    (repeat to out)

Jeez, you guys create fantastic songs with great backing music and Keith's stellar vocal work. Brilliant arranging and performing - love that guitar solo. Cool lyrics too BTW. All in all a great track, guys.

A cool number here Darren and Keith! I like the harmony leads and the vocals are right on. I hear several styles here...even a little Lennon, which is all right by me. Well done guys!

This one is great. The songwriting. The vocal parts meshing.   The cool arrangment.

Definitely feeling some Beatlesque and Floyd vibes.

damn it man this is another fanflippintastical musical rock pop adventure...wow.... I am pinching myself that I didnt have to pay anything to hear this...wow...it's bloody brilliant... first off the lyrics are spot on to being a teen...
for me this is very detailed song... the lead guitar is reminiscent of Badfinger, at least a good bit of it...this sound you got on the leads is what the masters gave us back in the 70's...oh I hear a hint of Rush right there too... and your sustain is fascinating....
there is so much going on in here...the details of the backing vocals too....
I am shaking my head this is ready to go on any radio station....

Great tracks boys. Love the guitar arrangements here and excellent harmonies. Very interesting lyrics on this one and the mixing and recording on everything is done so well.

Hook

Wow, this is catchy as hell and interesting as prog. I dig all the layers and the harmonies both vocal and guitar are super cool. Great song.
Rock on!

Beautiful vocal harmonies throughout
The over all arrangement here is outstanding.
All the instruments are perfectly placed and mixed, from the drums to the guitars.
