ANOTHER ONE FOR THE NEILFEST
LIKE A HURRICANE - acoustic version

Here is my version of this great song, I decided to go mostly acoustic for something different.  I started out with the same backer that Satch used (drums and the keyboard part), I added two rhythm guitar tracks (strat and acoustic), harmonica, acoustic lead, vocals.  All played by me straight into the microBR (I used the roland stereo condenser mic).

What a solo! Make that TWO solos! On an acoustic guitar! Mind-blowingly excellent, BB. This is beautifully put together. Top quality stuff. Magic indeed.

Quote from: Bluesberry on June 05, 2009, 07:26:37 AMThanks guys, the idea I had here was to try to play the acoustic as if it was an electric, the same kind of intensity, bending, playing way up the fretboard, all that.  It is tricky to play this way on an acoustic for sure, you can hear everything, no effects to hide behind, no sustain, gain etc, so every note had to be struck well, but I wanted some of the speed and intensity of an electric solo.  I am happy with how it turned out, thanks for all the great comments.  I am going to have to play like this more often, it was a real blast!

It worked brilliantly. There were places were it was going towards flamenco... maybe more in the intensity and vibe than the notes, but it definitely in that general direction. Very cool.
