Halb Acht - ODH & Poly Urethane (Nick & Hilary)

So.  I started this way back when there was an original glam rock fest, sometime last year.  I thought I'd do a glam rock song in 7/8.  Never came to anything.

Then listening to the track I found myself singing Halb Acht, just at the points they fall in the final version.  Then I came up with words over time.  Trouble is they were words which needed a female singer.  Around about that time I was impressed with Hilary's Designer Vagina, and it occurred to me that it was exactly the style I needed for this.

The Halb Acht (meaning 19:30 in German) became a metaphor for the insistence / craziness of the male character, pestering.

And I'm very happy to say that Hilary agreed to get into character again and work with me on this.  Thanks again Hilary.

All of the drums and keyboards are from DM-1 drum machine into GarageBand, and there is a bass from there too.  Guitar is my Tokai Breezysound (Telecaster).

Needless to say this is all characterisation and story telling.  Hilary's contributions have taken it to another level.

wow...this is very cool and lots of fun.... really neat music track... I liked reading about your doing it Nick.... good choice to get Hilary on this...she is a bit like Trevor in that she has some chameleon like qualities that go well with lots of styles... I don't think either of them have any limits or boundaries...

Wow, Poly's back, and with a vengeance!!! This is quite amazing Nick, it's prog Glam, so many clever twists and turns and really cool arrangements. The groove is really good and the way you've arranged everything makes for a compelling listen, a real aural delight. And Hilary's vocals are perfect for this, and the way you have added the male vocal adds a real edge. I really like the way both vocals are doubled at the end. The overall mix and production is wonderful, a really unique and innovative track. Well done both of you!
