He was in Hamburg with his band Marshall-Hammond just after the Beatles came back home. I guess there was a taste for British beat combos there. He ended up supporting the Crazy World of Arthur Brown and should have 'made it'. Unfortunately when it came to recording their demo, they stupidly chose to cover 'Whiter Shade of Pale' which had only been out 6 months earlier. If they'd done something original (and good) they'd have probably been signed. He's still a f*cking awesome bass player.

One of my fave Beatles tracks, I really enjoyed playing this live when I was in a covers band with some work colleagues. You did a great job here, you really captured the power of the original and it rocks along brilliantly. Love the back story, I hope you get to play this with your uncle one day.....

Awesome Tim. As I've said before, I'm not big on the Beatles but this is one of my preferred songs and often covered by other bands. All I can say is you do Beatles songs better than the Beatles !

Feckin excellent.
Some songs are meant to be rocked right out.
You can tell you had a blast on this,and what a cool story to go with it.
