After the encouraging feedback on my recent rare original: https://songcrafters.org/forum/index.php?topic=31018.0
I decided to try another

Due to a cut on my hand I couldn't play guitar, so just used a Casio CT-X3000 keyboard and the built in rhythms and accompaniment.  You can play simplified chords using one or two fingers and accompaniment (electric piano, drums, bass, strings, etc.) is auto generated.  I used the patch "Mellow 8 beat" and came up with chord progression and lyric ideas, then recorded it and overdubbed vocals and a couple other tracks (listed below the lyrics)

You and I Both Know - by des0free

Verse 1
C           CM7               C7
Why....do I feel so blue on a sunny day
F                      Fm
People laughing in the park
C       CM7               C7
When....you went off on a trip last week
  F                          Fm
I felt something break in my heart

Chorus
C5  C5             C7            F               Fm
....You and I both know.., we're hiding from the pain
  C5              C7      F                   Fm
I never felt this way..., blue sky looks like rain
C5             C7       F                   Fm
You and I both know, we shouldn't play this game

Verse 2
C       CM7           C7
When....seasons pass, winter comes
  F                           Fm
I wonder if our feelings will change
C      CM7                           C7
Try....to keep on hoping for another year
    F                        Fm
And let all the bad thoughts go

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

i really like your singing and your voice...it's sort of between Al Stewart and the people that Alan Parsons uses....maybe a touch of Steely Dan too... I dunno...it's great that is all I know...
I figured if I could write a song that just one person really loved that would be enough...to have just one love it...
well, I love this one..
and maybe it was a little easier just being singer but you still had to make the machine work and that counts too...
great stuff..

Another lovely keyboard and vocal song (I've just listened to Tim's Basement Full of Stars). This is direct and right to the point, the vocals are perfect for the keyboards, and there are some lovely harmonies in there. Very nicely recorded as well, a lovely listen. Well done indeed!

DarrenG / The Devil's Toupee

A lovely song, the keyboard melody is great, has a beegees or Beatles feel. You have really nice singing voice. Great harmonies too and love the lyrics. Great all round. Darren.
I have 2 profiles on this site, (NOW COMBINED INTO ONE PROFILE PAGE)
One is a musical partnership with Keith Allen, ( we record songs as "The Devil's Toupee").
The 2nd one is for my other musical projects and collaborations. (DarrenG)
Thanks for listening.

Kenneth

I'm getting the Al Stewart vibe (as Steve mentioned) as well.
This is a good song, and I'd sure like to hear it done with acoustic guitar.
Good work! Great vocals!

Well done desOfree! Like Darren, I hear a touch of the Beegees in your vocals and a little Beatles in the chords. A lovely song you've created!
