Miss Lovely Eyes

T.C. Elliott

It's been a rough year. This song kind of came out of that.
I've tried a few new things in this song. A combination of fake and real drums (real drums are samples, but they sound real. The fake drums are 8-bit crushed.)
I used a flanger on the acoustic guitar (and vocal a little bit, too) to give a bit of an unsettling feeling.

The winter cold bites my skin
Makes me think of her
The dead and dying world surrounds me
On this mortal earth

I remember better times
Before this winter chill
Hoping I feel warm again
But I doubt I ever will

They say spring is here
The world will come alive
But all I can think about is Miss Lovely Eyes

I step on broken leaves
Feel the crunching in my soul
I feel at home with broken things
And healing takes its toll

It's just a matter of time
'Til the green takes away my gray
But for now I'll watch the wind
Blow against her grave

They say spring is here
The world will come alive
But all I can think about is Miss Lovely Eyes

They say spring is here
The world will come alive
But all I can think about is Miss Lovely Eyes

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Well crafted tune, the beat drives it along nicely.
Excellent chorus too, with a T.C. Elliot vocal we all recognise, great stuff, well  done!

Love that 8-bit sound on the verse and the contrast with the soaring chorus (it's a killer!). The swirl of the flanger is very effective. But even if you stripped away all the production leaving just vocal and acoustic guitar, this would be an excellent song. I love the edge of melancholy on the chords and the vocal that are perfect for the (excellent) lyric. Great title too! So much to like and admire on this one. Fantastic.

Great song and so well produced; the melancholy lyrics work perfectly with the melodies and harmonic structure. Great vocal work too.

A very good song T.C! The movement of the flanger does give me an unsettled feeling but that's part of the appeal of your production. The excellent chorus sort of grounds the song and pulls us back to earth. Great vox and guitar work!

What a great song, I wish it was longer it's so good. The crushed drum bit really works well and the acoustic sounds great, nice flanger effect. Love the lyrics and vocals. Some really catchy riffs on the lead solo. :) darren
