I am enjoying the personal history of JP and Nigel in this thread as much as the song itself....

Very nice JP! I remember this song playing on the radio when I was a kid. You did an excellent version of it!

QuoteNot many 11 year olds were into Pink Floyd in 1968..
if me! it is true that in 68..I was already old..I was ...20 years old.., and I saw Pink Floyd 1st generation in Lyon, at the Palais des Sports
I thought you had a few years on me, but I didn't like to assume...... ;D

I saw Pink Floyd on the Dark Side of the Moon tour (I think just before they actually released the record), I would have loved to have seen them early on with Syd. The closest I have come to that is seeing Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets a couple of years ago, they play all the early Pink Floyd stuff. Really fantastic stuff.

We're not done with Albatros by Peter Green (PG), and we can't pay enough tribute to this very fine guitarist that PG was

It's my friend Alex who made me discover this calm and haunting song

I recomposed my video version after the wreck of my channel
Here it is, with a nice poem by Charles Baudelaire

..and it's true that these minimalist A E F#m chords in loop have a lanscending and hypnotic character that inspired many and John Lennon declared that the first 50 seconds of the intro of "The sun King" was a tribute to PG, but moreover it's the genius of the beatles the sumptuous harmonivocals of the sung part

I think this is the next cover I'll try, just for fun!

Very pleasant version, JP - this makes a nice companion piece to groundy's version (which I also heard for the first time today). I found the differences to be quite interesting.
