For the youngest among you, let Uncle JP tell you the story...

this instrumental piece has a history (in the history of Pop music)
composed by Peter Green from the band Fleetwood Mac in 1968
This soaring and heady piece turns on 4 chords E EMaj7  A/E F#m

Peter Green was probably inspired by a song of Chuck Berry "Deep Feeling" of 1957 with which it has strong analogies and it seems that Chuck Berry was strongly inspired by a song of 1939 Floyd's guitar Blues of Andy Kirk...and to finish the history of this Albatross which bites the tail John Lennon was also inspired by Albatross to compose "Sun King" in 1969 in the album Revolver

Led by dreamy guitars, Albatross evokes a calm seashore, with cymbals imitating the sound of the waves
Ah yes, easy solution I used a backtrack because I don't know how to make this sound of cymbals hit with felt mallets...
but the Weissenborn, the lap steel, the Rickenbacker 12st string (sorry, for the purist the Harley Benton 12 string)...are real

thanks guys for listening

what i find the most attractive about Peter Green was his humility... I find it totally impressive that he wanted the band to be named after his band mates... I became a big Fleetwood Mac fan well after he was gone but...that doesn't mean I haven't glimpsed back into what the roots of the band are.... this is one of the very greatest bands in rock history.... and he was a (the) founder....
I don't think I ever heard this but it sounds really nice and like the opposite of the little cover I did...ha!

I come back to the genesis of this piece.
Peter Green said he was inspired by Santos and Johnny "Sleep walk"? ..I see more analogy with Chuck Berry's Deep Feeling, no?

Pour moi je me suis un peu inspiré de la version live de Fleetwood Mac et David Gilmour

Ah, their only number one in the UK. Brings back memories of being a kid in the late 60s and seeing this on TV. One of the songs that got me into guitar, it was one of the first things I learned (that and "Man of the World"). Lovely version JP, you really put your own spin on this. It sounds so lovely and lush, well done.

Jean Pierre

thank you all guys...

We definitely are. I feel really lucky to have grown up in the 1960s and to have experienced all that wonderful music first hand. I was also lucky to have an older brother who was listening to lots of great music while I was still a kid so I got to hear a lot of great stuff which I would not have heard so young. Not many 11 year olds were into Pink Floyd in 1968...... ;D

if me! it is true that in 68..I was already old..I was ...20 years old.., and I saw Pink Floyd 1st generation in Lyon, at the Palais des Sports

A very good version JP - the instruments you used make for a very interesting difference from the original.
