Got this in my mail this morning from Kenneth, He already had the title in the chorus and it got the juices going. I drove to work listening to the backer and on the way back from work. In between times there is an election going on in Scotland and a cut up festival going on here. So i thought i'd combine both. Election is very exciting and today a keynote speech was made, i got the written version and chopped it up and wailed over the top of Ken's backer. Cheers ken.

Anyway.

It is what it is.
It still resonates today
We are shaped by our history
defined by our principles
to the here and now.

the recognition of the need
As it was then, so it can be now.
tell the wider world who we are
and who we want to be.

1 2 3 time for a miracle

This needs to become
what we all know it to be
The key to all of that
Is the reason we are

1 2 3 time for a miracle

In purpose lies our strength
Our greatest opportunity
To tilt the balance of power
expression will prevail.

Great little track. Love the energy in it and that hook really pops. It's got a bit of a Talking Heads feel me thinks and the angular guitar additions were just perfect. Love those backing vocals too and how they pop in near the end. Was waiting on one more of hit that chorus but the cut out serves as a cool ending as well. Awesome job guys

Wow - loads of energy, not sure if it's Byrne or Eno that I'm hearing..

Nice nice nice :->

Great backer and backing vocals from Kenneth, and I'm digging those cut up lyrics and orh vocals.

Wow, this is an absolute killer! I love the big pad synth sounds on the backer and the lyrics fit like a glove. The hook is soooo catchy, the 1-2-3 time for a miracle is stunning over the backer. I love what Kenneth does at about 1:30 as well, really controlled lunacy that sounds great. It's a really strong track, you two combined brilliantly on this.

An exciting election...? Glad you're enjoying it Jim. Maybe you'll be voting Alba....... ;) :D

StephenM

this rocks...and I like the story of how you made the lyrics...Kenneth is a miracle worker on the tracks and you sang and wrote the lyrics fantastic...er at least cut them up well....

Thanks James, and thanks all for commenting on the tune!

Yeah bloody brilliant. As soon as a minute or so of this had passed I suddenly felt I would love to hear this live. Magnificent. Really hard to pigeonhole this into a genre which is no mean feat. As "current" and relevant as anything I have heard. Really, good stuff guys.
