This was a track i had floating around for a few years, just the music. I sent it to Trevor (thetworegs) to see if he could do some lyrics and vocals for it..which i'm glad to say he did.
Thanks a lot Trevor. :-)   Thanks for listening.

PRACTICING AT BEING

He was chasing the light
most of his life
trying to be that someone
That someone was always on his mind
That someone spent most of his time
Practicing at being

He thought one day he would prove to all that he was the man to be
He didn't like it when no one took noticed, how easy he was to see
After all that practicing at being
After all that practicing at being

He was practicing at being
He was practicing at being

He's still chasing that light
He's a pretender now its become his life
He never truly found that someone inside that everybody liked
Just like his childhood
he was never noticed in his own right

He chased that someone around his head right out of his life
He's still doing what he does best, he's practicing at being

He's still practicing at being
He's still practicing at being

smoking rock and roll tune here fellas...the music sounds great...love the guitars and the progressions..

the vocals sound like the great John Schlitt of Head East and then Petra... really close...  I have listened to Trevor sing quite a lot...and this is the first time I heard this...but then again...Trevs got a chameleon like voice so he can sound like many greats...and he's great on his own...

the organ sounds also remind me of a Head East song...

if you never heard the  band I recommend "Oh Elijah" or "Jefftown Creek"....they had great vocals

A real snappy tune Darren and Trevor! The music rocks right along Darren (cool guitar) and Trevor's words/vocal fit like a glove. I hear a hint of Mr. Plant in your phrasing Trevor. I like it!

Ohhh yes indeed. This is a great track right here. Very original sound. Kinda light with a great touch of pop, but rocks hard in it's own way. Kinda hard to describe... mabye like a vibe the Cars might have got... or Talking Heads? That's a scorching vocal from Trevor... and what cool lyrics. Love it.

This rocks along like a beauty. Sounds quite 'psych' to me - 13th Floor Elevator garage psych territory. Love the brew of guitar and organ, and the attitude in Trevor's vocal. Profound lyric too.

Fantastic!

Like Tim, I'm getting a late 60s/early 70s vibe with the distorted guitar and keyboard combo, and the rocky groove. And that's a good groove in my book, it really rocks along in a very good way. Trev's vocal fits this style great and sounds fab. I just love the lyrics, agreeing with Tim again on them being very profound. Lot of echoes about why we want to be in bands......

Smoking foot tapper love the organ stabs after Trevor on the chorus then leads breaks all is good

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Oh yeah! Cool rocker from you guys; great backing from Darren and great vox from Trevor. Excellent guitar work too and good lyrics.

Awesome track. Love the ripping vocal, seering and pysch inspired lead work and the quirky keyboards really add a uniqueness to track. Bravo!
