I wanted something special for Disco Dave so I've given Garageband a go (1 bass guitar, 1 piano, 1 drums, 1 bass vocal line, 1 vocal line and several bits and bobs).

Wanted to get this out for Valentine's day but everyday is Valentine's Day for Disco Dave and Mary so it's all good.

Enjoy!

Disco Dave

Now Disco Dave was a handsome man
The ladies were impressed
They liked his glitter ball
But they liked his glittery chest the best

Dave was really good at latin
He knew all the declensions
But disco was his first love
That and grammar conjugations

The ladies were a-swooning
His dance card it was quite full
But Disco Dave was a nom-de-plume
His real name was Phil

Now Phil he could twist and floss
Just as good as Dave
But Disco Phil don't sound so good
So they called him Disco Dave

Don't blame it on the sunshine
Don't blame it on the moonlight
Don't blame it on the good times
Blame it on the boogie woogie oogie

Disco Dave he did meet a lass
Their eyes met upon a dance floor
He said just call me Disco Dave
She said – JUST CALL ME MARY

Poor Mary she did have 2 left feet
But she did have a torch
So she shined it at Dave's disco ball
And whispered – AMICUS, AMICI, AMICO, AMICUM

Many years have passed since that first night
But Disco Dave can still bust out some moves
And Mary caries a torch for him
when they get in the groove

Don't blame it on the sunshine
Don't blame it on the moonlight
Don't blame it on the good times
Blame it on the boogie woogie oogie

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Good fun song. Clever lyrics and the music from GarageBand has been put together well. I like the chorus, echoing the Jackson 5 song. :)
I have 2 profiles on this site, (NOW COMBINED INTO ONE PROFILE PAGE)
One is a musical partnership with Keith Allen, ( we record songs as "The Devil's Toupee").
The 2nd one is for my other musical projects and collaborations. (DarrenG)
Thanks for listening.

> And Mary carries a torch for him

This was a brilliant inspired line, in a really great song. I enjoyed the double-entendre there, and the latin jokes. It's all brilliant.

Wow! Disco Dave is a lucky guy. Hope he keeps his lawyer friend handy though, you never know about Mary.

Wow, quite a change of style here, you did amazingly well. I think the Garageband experiment worked out very nicely, some great sounds in there and it all came together really well, the end result sounds fab. Love what you do with the backing vocals on the "Don't blame it....." sections. Hopefully we'll hear more from you using all this tech!

The song itself is wonderful as always. Love the concept and the style of the music suits the lyrics beautifully. Although I'm very jealous of Disco Dave as my O Level Latin was never any help to me.......
