I used to be an Amature Boxer.....

Haven't done it for a while though...

I have a fight of another kind coming up.......

A few of the most salient points of what I learned during my time in the ring seems transferable to the situation....



Keep your decorum.....



Keep it gentlemanly......



Never Lose your temper!



Keep your guard up........



If you get Knocked down........GET BACK UP!



Never Give Up!!!!!!



You Might just win....


I learned that boxing is not about violence.......

It's about controlling yourself....!


I hate violence and Street Fights... 
But I value the ability to defend myself.......

I also learned that one thing that must be valued over all else......

Well they made a comeback in the late 80's early 90's with the Stone Roses and co, so your Mum was ahead of her time!!

As long as you punch right and wrap up well, you won't endanger your playing.....

Turn your knuckles when you jab so they are like mountains on a horizon when you look at them.... and dont tense up your entire arm (Bad things happen)....

I don't know what it is, but everything just lines up and becomes stronger....


But hey.... This aint no Boxing forum(Do they have them?)!!!!!

Hey thanks for the tips mr T! 

I can always use some mixed-martial-arts like jiu jitsu or something that uses submission techniques 

I enjoyed listening to your song again! 

I can picture Mahammed Ali dancing like a butterfly and stinging like a bee!

Oh, BTW - my old man was at that Ali fight - was in Lewiston, ME. I was born and raised in that state. Dad's story was that he was coming back with his drink and old Boomaye was standing over a cold body - never got his seat warm!!

It was the sort of thing that that shows you what "drive" (internal) can do, and along with prep!
