Love that less than obvious chord sequence and the pounding, insistent urgency of the track. The bass sound is awesome, I love the way it growls away under the rest of the band. Vocals are great with some really neat lyrics and the overall sound is really well produced and mixed. How did you do the production? In a studio or a home studio?

Really enjoyed this, sounds like you have a great band together. I will look forward to more from the album.......

Thanks for the Sex Bob-omb reference Ferryman!

We recorded this in a house off the floors. Drums in the living room, me singing and playing (scratch track) in an empty bedroom, guitar downstairs in the control room with his amp in the laundry room and bass going direct to board in console room with engineer.

It was a house that our drummer's good friend had rented and was still looking for a roommate. We got 6 songs done the first day and went back in about once a week to do overdubs. Jeff, the home renter and engineer had accumulated a lot of high end gear over the last few years and we became his guinea pigs as he was ours. Then he met a woman, fell in love and decided to quit his job, sell his gear and move to the island (Vancouver Island).

We weren't all that happy wth the mix at that point but it was all done without charge, just made sure we kept Jeff's beer fridge full. We thought it was ok for a demo but still needed some polish. We found an engineer (our drummer had worked with Mike for his other band's recordings) and booked some time in his studio in New Westminster, BC. Incredible studio; high ceilings, smoking aloud and lots of vintage equipment around at our disposal.  We replaced all the vocal tracks, re-recorded some guitar parts and even re-recorded one of the songs from scratch that I was not happy with. In the end it turned out better than we could have imagined! We will be booking our next sessions at Little Red Sound with Mike. We've found a home. Worth every penny.

I'm loving that guitar tone! Alternative / indie rock at its best. Nice work by all of you!
