Something noisy from the silver brick of dreams  8)

lain on cushions like Baudelaire
as oriental dark eyes stare
and dragon smoke curls everywhere
in Limehouse slums
till the morning comes

I imagine myself set adrift
a poet squandering his gift
in persian slippers in the mist
a decadent
in the firmament

oh-oh-oh-oh Limehouse opium

But it's not real - it's just the way I feel

laundries dark and squat like toads
by the river's sluggish flow
i can barely feel my toes
everything is numb
in the Limehouse slums

I imagine my heart set adrift
a poet squandering his gift
in persian slippers in the mist
a decadent
in the firmament

oh-oh-oh-oh Limehouse opium

But it's not real - it's just the way I feel

Fitting that you've given us a bit of Classic Greeny for your 10000th post Tim.

I love this, it's a real throwback to previous works, though the BR drums are replaced with the far nicer kit thst I assume is Garage band.

Lyrics are as strange and as obscure as ever, the whole thing is wonderful.

Thanks for your long-term and fabulous support for our community, I for one really appreciate your creative and supportive contributions.
We are here on Earth to fart around. Don't let anybody tell you any different

I had to jump straight in on this as soon as I saw this major milestone. It's brilliant on many levels. It's brilliant that you  have contributed so much to this community. It's brilliant that you have made so many amazing music posts. And this track is also brilliant. I love the noise as soon as it starts, great guitar sounds that really grab you by the scruff of the neck. And I love the groove you used, the drum beat is very cool and I really like the way the bass plays off against it. The chord sequences are great and I love the change and solo-y stuff in the middle from about 2:28. I like the breakdown ending as well.

Lyrics and vocals? Well, I never tire of saying that both are great. Great performance and fab imagery as always. And the sound you wrest from the little silver brick is great. You are soooo polished these days, and so consistent. Well done!

You definitely deserve a nice pair of persian slippers for your 10,000th post. Maybe we'll club together for the other stuff when you get to 20,000.........

This is a very cool song to celebrate your 10,000 post with...congratulations Tim! The bass and drums hang together well and I like that middle, slightly psychedelic, solo section. It went well with the Limehouse Opium theme. The lyrics read like the cut up style, but fit together and are well thought out. Nice work here!

Congrats on the 10,000 song posts..that's amazing. If I listen to each one it may take a few years though lol. What a great song, the guitars sound amazing. Love the groove and the psychedelic feel to it. Brilliant lyrics and vocals. You're a great musician/ songwriter.  :)

Wow, 10,000 posts! Over 10 years on this site and almost 500 songs posted. Truly staggering. The amazing thing is you never seem like you repeat yourself and your lyrics and instrumentation are always high class, this song being no exception. Love the big, chunky rock sound you got with such a great groove and an excellent hook. Here's to 10,000 more :)

Pure class, befitting of a 10,000th post. What a contribution, that's incredible and a really stellar post to hit that number with. Some really raw and cutting guitar riffing with that sweet bass carrying it along. Lyrics are mysterious and way cool, but most of all... what a brilliant song. Love it... I have had this looping now for a while. Absolute belter.
