In my ever ending quest to try different music thought I would try some Jazz Had to reduce the bit rate and as always thanks for listening to my experiments lol

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

I know nothing of jazz but this sounded really smooth and very cool to these ears. The keyboards and groove are really good, and I particularly liked the "ooos" going on in the background (are those vocals or keys?). They really add to the laid back atmosphere. The guitar lead work is really nice, subtle but interesting and has a lovely feel. But your vocals really seemed to hit the spot for this one, lots of light and shade in the performance and they really have the right feel for a song like this. I liked the nice clean and open mix as well, great job all round Tim.

I'm no expert on this kind of music but I very much enjoyed your experiment.

Nigel said "I'm no expert on this kind of music but I very much enjoyed your experiment."  I would add that I'm no expert in any kind of music lol.... but I know if I like something or not...
I like this Tim...it's cool as a cucumber!

and I would add that I listen to music on SC that I never would likely otherwise...and the reason is I have a connection to the community and some of the folks in the community... this is to me very much like a club where musicians come and hear each other play....only difference is we can do prerecordings etc...and we sit wherever to hear it...

DarrenG / The Devil's Toupee

This is a cool, smooth jazz song. Sounds just right. The bass and guitars are really spot on. And your vocals sound perfect for this style, great harmonies too :)
I have 2 profiles on this site, (NOW COMBINED INTO ONE PROFILE PAGE)
One is a musical partnership with Keith Allen, ( we record songs as "The Devil's Toupee").
The 2nd one is for my other musical projects and collaborations. (DarrenG)
Thanks for listening.

sounds real good...sweaty jazz kinda....late night ...tables sticky from spilled beer....eyes drooping a little.....a couple dancing in the middle of the room, hanging on to each other like they would fall over if they let go.....order another round ...sip that last beer....and listen to the smooth yet sweaty groove....

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

This is really good.   I like the idea of expanding your range and doing something unlike what you did before.

I think the vocal style works really well. It sounds like there's a lot of compression on the vocal, which is something I like, and I think it suits the mood of the track.

I do hear some kind of late night city jazz bar, with the piano player and the bass player wearing nice clothes, and a smoky room with lots of tables, with little islands of light in the dark corners.
