Micro BR vs BR-600

I've been looking to buy a multi track recorder and have no experience in using them whatsoever. I have come down to a choice of 2, the Boss Micro BR and the Boss BR-600.

From what i've read/heard on this forum the Micr BR is a great little piece of kit and i know nothing of the BR-600. Does anybody have any experience with each of these? Which would be the best to buy? I have enough money to buy either of them yet would be nice to have a little money left over afterwards!

Any advice on multi track recorders would be much appreciated

The 600 has all the features of the MBR, plus faders, more effects-programmable drums- velocity sensitive drum pads-ability to load samples to create custom drum kits- which i like since i own ezdrummer kits-haven't done too much with that yet tho-i've only had this thing about a week
you can load midi files for drums too
not to mention i got the 600 dirt cheap at bpmmusic.com
What i noticed so far is that the work flow is smoother -compared to futzing with the +/- buttons.
Make no mistake about it tho-the MBR is a great little gizmo-it's kinda like the swiss army knife of recorders- i wont part with mine-it fits in my guitar case just right-it's great little field recorder
the Micro can be used as mp3 player/tuner as well
i guess it depends what you want to achieve
you cant go wrong with either

Brilliant, i think i'll go for the br-600. I'm starting a band and having 8 tracks to record on will be useful. Thanks for your help :)

The BR-600 is very cool, if you find a good deal I would say go for it.

yes and no-the 600 tracks 5and6 7and8 are stereo track-it's a bit deceiving-almost turned me off to it-but is still useful none the less

theres a work around forthat situation if your layering tracks-but when recording live 5/6 and 7/8 are gonna record in stereo

Looking back now, I wish I had bought the 600.  I'm kicking myself not having extra inputs and phantom power.

However, I will agree with Ron, it is the best solution for guitar case quick recording.

actually-the 600 doesn't have phantom power-but i know how ya feel-

I just did a comparison of the specs and don't like the following about the BR 600

6 AAA batteries Ouch!

Compact flash instead of SD...

NO MP3 features, cancel, slowing down of mp3 tracks etc.

Double the size of the MicroBR (which is 1/2 the appeal of the MicroBR).
