Was messing about with my Akai MPK mini plugged into my MacBook and playing soft synths in GarageBand. transferred the music to my MicroBR and sang over it.

It is what it is.

Life flashes by you
Friends come and go
Do you stop for breath
Try to think things through
Well what can you do
To change how you feel
To stand and be strong
When you're weak and unsure

Just pause for a moment
Take in some air
Just look all around you
At everything there

You don't know what you have
Till it's no longer yours
When it slips through your fingers
And it's so hard to catch
Well you gather the pieces
And you fix what you can
And all the things that you can't change
Well that's out of your hands

Just pause for a moment
Take in some air
Just look all around you
At everything there
Everything There

Sounds really interesting, but lyrics are super.

Sounds so big, so confident. Love the synth choices and arrangement: total clarity. Great dynamics on the song too as it drops away then builds again. Love your vocal on this.

It's damn close to perfect.

Gather those pieces and fix what you can...

As Tim says huge sound with a good lyric good one

If Life is a dream then use your imagination

Having a synth swell start the song always intrigues me and this did not disappoint loving the groove on this song

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

BerryPatch

Love the sound of those synths, sounds absolutely huge. Crazy how that's all on GarageBand. Great introspective lyrics as always

Pine

I listen and see synapses sparking as introspective thoughts swirl around the man's brain. Life in hindsight. Life in the mirror. Life in the future. The musical arrangment for these lyrics works REALLY well. I've always been a fan of not just your vocals but your phrasing, which draws the listener in. I can relate to the lyrics. I put a sign up in my studio that just says "Gratitude". Works better than meds for me. Good one James...

Those GB synths sound fabtastic, James - and with a well-delivered vocal describing situations we variously encounter at one time or another along our journey. Fix the things you can, and recognize those you cannot.

And I love how you started in Garageband and ended up back in the Micro BR - gotta love the flexibility these tools provide!

I really like this one. The synth accompaniment is exactly right for these lyrics.

There's a subtle delay on the vocal right? That's a great production touch.
