PhotoFest (banner image missing)

Sneaking one in here. I took the photo the 1st week of the fest and wrote the 1st verse and chorus...then set it aside and wallowed. Printed it out yesterday and wrote this this last night. Pulled over into a parking lot at midnight, after work, and put this down. Took me an hour, mostly to play it without screwing up. the solo came rather quickly. the uke is my Kala Arch-top Tenor into the Br80. All the feedback at the end is my car speakers and my uke...I'm rather proud of it.
1 uke/vocal (stereo)
1 distorted uke solo (stereo)

Take a picture & the picture doesn't have to tell the truth
You can squint and cover one eye and still the picture might not offer any proof
What do you care you were there and you saw what you saw
Let the world interpret what they see and don't let it affect you at all

a snapshot
a moment in time
a memory of a
split second when I was blind
A snapshot
with a fractured lens
a distorted image
with waves and Bends
broken beams of light
more gray than black and white
skewing wrong and right
Tonight?

Take a picture and know that picture has a life to live
Developed, framed, displayed for all it has to give
Insight, inspiration or symbolic accoutrement
Taken with a grain of salt
It could start a movement
And maybe pay your rent

that uke lead is cool and yes... I love feedback...cool way to get that btw..... and I really liked your "beegees" falsetto humming....   what would have been even cooler would be to go into the live version of Ted Nugents Stranglehold right after the feedback.... (just kidding....the feedback reminded me of Ted for some reason)

That's a profound lyric. Beyond the singular photograph to examine every photo ever taken. Excellent. The frantic rhythm of the uke seems jaunty on the surface, but there's an air of darkness in there too. It's a great performance, and that final feedback section chimes perfectly with the mystery of the photograph.

Bloody brilliant. Glad you got it in like a newspaper photographer before the deadline :-)

Always love your Ike playing but the lead was off the hook bravo

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Hook man, I love your "in the car" recordings, there is always a cool reverb thing going on, very warm and intimate sounding......what a very cool song....I love the lyrics......I need to try this method sometime.....love, love, love the uke/guitar solo, that is very wicked

Very cool. Love the little changes you add in there, really adds a tense feel. Great vocals and excellent lyrics. Love me that good old distorted uke as well :)

Feedback heaven.
You are one of my favourite here, I love what you do.
Rock on.

That first verse, that lyric, is excellent. I like the uke and there's no way I'dda guessed that was a uke solo. That's awesome.

wow. What a trip! Hook, you are one original cat. Lyrics so full of imagery and things to ponder. You ripped them off like an all star rapper. The super upbeat uke creates tension that is a bit dark at times despite it's usual happiness. Your vocal phrasing on the refrain is reminisce of Ian Anderson. Wild tune...and recorded in your car?? Amazing. I stared at that picture during the outro...and i thought i saw it move :-))

Intense production there! Fine blend of lyrical emotion, rhythmic disturbance and exceptional talent with that uke solo being oh so fine!
