This sounded like it was great fun to record and it turned out so well as well. Almost turns the into a bit of a Prince thing with the gang vocals from you guys. Awesome shred work as well

Beautiful...hilarious....serious.....tender....I thought it was Harry Styles doing this cover when I first heard it.....hey that guitar solo is wild....that's what you have to say for yourself.....must be Geir...brilliant....

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

"A small but perfectly formed group of aging men. A 1980's classic. Wooden Huts. Social Isolation. A crime against music."..LMAO!

I'd forgotten all about this song. The "Choral Society" has resurrected it in all it's Sledgy glory. Alot of work with all these participants. Well mixed and produced. As for that guitar solo...that is absolutely, positively, incredibly Insane!! That whammy bar got a work out! I was smiling ear to ear. The whole tune sounds like you all had fun. Mega collab came out nice!

This is great - it sounds more like a professional studio recording than like five isolated guys in five ramshackle huts clutching MBRs (or similar).

I'm guessing Flash did the mix (pro) and Geir did the guitar solo (frantic!).  Some very nice drum sounds on this - I would like to know what you used?

What a talented group!

Firstly that bass is stunning - tight on the beat but with swing, I would say :D
and the whammy lead guitar was simply spendid.

Had me grinning from ear-to-ear.

I say bring back the pirates though!

Thank you for noticing.

Jarle sent his stereo drum track, I'm guessing that its from his Roland TD kit.
These were filtered and used to trigger extra kick and snare. Gated reverb applied and all mixed back into the drum track. Jarle also supplied a separate Tambourine track which got copious reverb too.

I agree with the Prince feel...that's spot on... and I know more than a few people who think he was the best musician ever....  well... first off I love Peter Gabriel... and this song....but i have to admit i wasn't that crazy about his stuff when I first heard it... but i came to love it over time.... GREAT COVER...PERIOD!!!!!
I like the multiple voice vocals...works for me... the mix is excellent...and yes the bass and drums    a r e  b i g   and  t i g h t....... and the lead is wow wee....
