ok...since Neil passed away and Rush is one of my favorite bands ever....I wanted to do one of these but obviously this is not an easy task...so this is the best I can do right now... I have played around with the rhythm guitar for years actually and today I decided to learn it well enough to record it... Of course I changed the bridge a bit...and added a couple little twists because it puts my stamp on the cover.... I think if you were in a bar and had about 4 or 5 this might sound like a pretty good band....

I DID A REMIX per Nigel's suggestions....It is bigger for sure....and I brought out something I missed the first time...laughs...and really there is no laughter in losing Mr. Peart... he was phenomenal...a superstar of stars... but he had a sense of humor...that I know for sure.

I didn't know...EXCELLENT!...how do you make the drums to have so many breaks that go so well with the song and the rhythm????...I can't do this
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Wow, you picked a tough one here Steve! Even Rush play it slower live in the more recent concerts....

I think you did a great job, some fantastic guitar work and a really good job on the vocals. And you kept it all together with the drums, very nicely done indeed. And the twist at the end cracked me up!

One thing I would suggest is doubling the rhythm part and panning it hard left and right. With such a complex song as this, I think it would really help create more space for the lead guitar and vocals if the riff and rhythm parts were a bit more separate in the stereo image. But you still did a great job on a complex track that I wouldn't dare to attempt!

Nigel, I actually thought alot about doing this but what happened was I did that with the vocals (actually sort of)....so I was afraid it might interfere....so... maybe a bit of tweaking is in order....can't hurt to try it...thanks...because believe it or not I actually do employ a number of tricks that you guys have taught me.... I think though the single biggest improvement is getting some reference monitors to mix with.

This took some bravery / balls! Some serious guitar chops and tones, but that drumming - man, you excelled yourself. Quite an incredible performance of something almost terrifyingly complex. I salute you!

This is no mean feat Stephen.  A tough song and you have done it justice.  I agree with the others - the drumming is very fine.

BerryPatch

Great cover of an underrated classic. Love the gnarly Fuzz you used for the main riff and that drumming is awesome. You're quite the drummer on top of being a great guitarist/bassist/singer :)
