I love this Nick. It's really well put together and the way it builds from the basic riffs is quite wonderful, bringing the drums in later on is a great move. And the underlying riffs on the uke are really cool, they create just the right mood - gentle, but with a distinct touch of melancholy. The bass work is great and the overall production is clear and well balanced.

The new normal ain't that bad if it sounds like this......

You got me at the first chord change! That looping uke refrain is just beautiful. Almost Japanese Koto (?) like. It's a dream-like state that builds slow and subtle. The piano and bass are such fine additions.

yes, i am thinking I need to hear this after a toke of some ganja...with headphones at low volume...freaking awesome sounding...dreamy...drifty....reaching for something big...reaching toward the sky.... drifting in and out....wow...and now that piano...very cool...mesmerizing..... this reminds me of Supertramp and Alan Parsons getting together for something cool.... I'm clapping!!!!

Like sand thru the hourglass. Life moves forward but stays the same. The New Normal ...aptly named. Like the movie Groundhog Day. Days still seems to fly by, and yet, like your song, there is a continuity of similarity. Things happen. Sure. The piano says that and so do the drums. But the bass and the uke are like the sunrise and sunset. Meditative and hypnotic tune. Out of the box stuff. Cool.

Lovely Nick... very hypnotic indeed and quite thought provoking. Love the idea of trying to describe the new normal situation with music only, letting our mind paint the picture along to the music. Great stuff.
