This has 5 tracks: acoustic guitar and vocal (recorded together), bass, keyboard (piano and organ sounds), and midi drums:

Guitar: Taylor GS mini with "iRig Acoustic stage" clip on mic
Vocal: CAD D90 dynamic mic through Mic Mechanic 2 processor and CLA vocal plugin in Reaper
Bass: Fender Mustang thru "Hartke" patch on Zoom, CLA Bass plugin
Keyboard: Casio CT-X3000 "Stage Piano" and "JS Organ" patches
Drums: Midi file played through Casio CT-X3000 Keyboard
Mastering: API 2500 compressor, J37 tape sim, and L1+ Ultramaximizer plugins in Reaper

Any feedback on how to improve the mix is much appreciated!

UPDATE: Based on the feedback tips below I replaced the mix here with the modified one.

great cover...lots of life in it...seeing as you are asking for feedback, I feel that the vocals are a bit too prominant and too dry or naked sounding...I am not an expert in recording vocals but I am thinking some more reverb and bring them down slightly in the mix might be the sweet spot...other than that the rest sounds very good.....mayby I would also bring the bass up a tiny bit, I like bass a bit more present and punchy, but others may say it is fine....anyway thats my 2 cents worth...all in all a great cover

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

EDIT: I replaced the original post with a remix, and this post here just has the original version for comparison.
Hey - thanks for the feedback.  I attempted some tweaks.  Of course once one starts tweaking I couldn't resist touching a lot of small "knobs" and maybe I went overboard... I also decided to make the drums come in later, with the bass

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Great job on the vocals man. In the remix you did they sit just right and the little reverb you added really blends them together with your backing. Everything is tightly performed. What a classic song too, me and my buddies like to play this one a lot when we jam. Maybe I'll have to post up one of those jams sometime :)

Nice job on the remix. Such a classic, fantastic song, and you've made a lovely job on all the elements. The piano is such a nice melodic touch. What a great performance!

A cool CCR cover! The remix and added reverb did mellow out the vocals in a good way. Nice work!

I actually quite like both mixes! I prefer the second one but the original has a character all its own..... I smiled that you were up to mix 13 when you did the first post, we've all been there......

I loved this cover, although I don't know the original. I really like your vocal performance and vocal sound, it really seems to suit the song. I liked the piano work and those little downward runs. And a neat feature was the extra cymbals in the last chorus, it really gave it a bit of dynamics towards the end. A very nice touch!

This is really well put together and sounds great over my monitors. Very nice work.

Wish i could sing like that second version is slightly better mix to my ears , but it is a perfectly recorded song , well balanced throughout and expertly performed , dont know the song but i like it , great stuff
